Halfway House in Maplewood, MinnesotaThe Anthony House is a Halfway House located in Maplewood, Minnesota that offers a caring environment for recovering alcoholics and addicts. The Anthony House is different from other halfway houses in the area and maybe a better choice for you as you think about your best and most effective path to being sober. What we believe distinguishes the Anthony House from others that seek to help people become sober are these two important characteristics:

1. We do not impose a mandatory time limit on our residents.
2. We focus on personal responsibility.

Many halfway houses set an end-date for a resident’s stay upon their arrival. However, our model is built on the idea that because everyone’s circumstances are different, the amount of time required to feel ready for the transition back into the world of sobriety should not be predetermined. Our residents arrive at the Anthony House in need of greater understanding of the dynamics that led to their reliance on drugs and/or alcohol. The psychological aspects of their lives have typically resulted in the physical reliance on the effects of substances, which requires them to not only deal with their addiction, but also to understand the complex components of their lives that led to their addictions.

An important means of reaching that kind of understanding is through personal responsibility. For many who have given in to the temptations of alcohol and other drugs, those substances have provided a kind of justification to be free of important responsibilities, especially as they regard personal relationships. The Anthony House focuses on instilling responsibility as a core value. It is important to note that our focus on personal responsibility should not create an impression that our facility is restrictive to an extreme. We value personal freedoms and extend a healthy measure of them to our residents. In many ways, the expression of personal freedom is the ideal means of achieving personal responsibility. The Anthony House has succeeded for so long, because we believe we have found the best balance between personal freedom and responsibility to others.

This unique combination encourages our residents to look inward for understanding and demonstrate their new insights in healthy interactions with their fellow residents. The best way to achieve these goals is for the Anthony House to value our residents’ safety and comfort. If you would like to schedule a tour, call us at 651-334-2395.
